Friday evening
As I go over the mission for tomorrow
morning, I get the craving that I didn't want. I tried to ignore it
but the more I ignored it the stronger the feeling became. I know
that giving in would comprise the mission, so I headed off to bed.
As I tossed and turned for about an
hour, at the end I had no choice, I pick up the phone and made the
call.
Me, “I'll be there in 15mintues, the
usual”
Within minutes I was out the door, I
was under the gun, I know the first stop was closing soon, made it
with minutes to spare, grabbed the liquids and off to meet up with
the pizzaiolo.
In less than 20 minutes I was back at
home, on the chesterfield with my pizza and beer. Worried about tomorrow's
mission, is it compromised?
Saturday Morning, 5AM alarm ringing
Laying there is bed, I knew the longer
I stayed here, the greater the chance of failure. For some reason I
just didn't care and wanted to stay in my nice warm bed. Falling in
and out of consciousness I was day dreaming of what laid ahead of me. At
7AM I finally crawling out of bed to get ready.
The late start didn't put a damper on
the day but since it was a beautiful day tourists and locals were out
everywhere making parking the donkey a little bit of an issue. What's
an extra kilometre or two to cover right.
First was the all important toe dip
into the waters of Deep Cove, and I was off into the forest, taking a
trail less traveled and turned off from BP to Cove Runner. Which very
shortly after things got interesting. An unpleasant feeling in my
stomach lead to a rush towards Mt Seymour Rd to use the outhouse.

Deep Cove |
After having a sense of relief, I
continued westward towards Lynn valley along the BP. Surprisingly
there were very few people on this part of the trail. I was mostly by
myself until I was nearing the gazebo.

Rice Peak |
On my way up to Lynn ridge, I was determined not be passed along during the climb. I marched uphill and chit chatting with others as I passed them. The climb was longer then I remember but I enjoyed myself. I push all the way to the viewpoint where I had a short breather and off to Rice Peak, aka South Lynn.

Once I got to the peak, I had to make the decision to continue onto Lynn peak or go back home. I contemplated my options for almost 5 minutes before, "#$%* it, let's bag Lynn also"

Rice Peak |
The route to Lynn peak was step down and steep up and repeat. I kept a decent pace but still was slow having to climb over and under a few logs.
The stop off at Lynn was short because I was determined to get to End of the Line, I wanted my ice cream.
Fairly uneventful trek back to the viewpoint, only surprise was running into a couple going to Lynn. As soon as I hit the down hill I transformed into a serious runner and made great time down hill after all the dilly dallying I was doing.

Someone has spent the night up here |

Got into End of the Line, got my ice cream and was on the return leg to Deep Cove.
